We accept applications for members from all levels and types of alternative medical practitioners. Upon application, the Board of the College of the Society of Naturopathic and Naprapathic Doctors will assess the candidate's qualifications and experience on an individual basis and apply recognition or prior learning credits to their file. A decision will be notified to the candidate as to what level of registered membership they have been awarded.
This allows individual practitioners to join and continuously professionally develop under guidance.

Levels of Registered Membership Explained
We offer a structured 15-tier register designed to provide flexibility while maintaining defined academic and clinical standards.
Our framework is built around five core academic levels, each subdivided to recognise progressive achievement and continuing professional development.
Level 1 aligns with the academic difficulty of the first two years of an undergraduate degree.
Level 2 aligns with the honours (final-year undergraduate) standard.
Level 3 aligns with postgraduate Master’s level.
Level 4 aligns with the taught professional doctoral level.
Level 5 aligns with the advanced doctoral level.
Progression to full Level 4 registration (Naturopathic or Naprapathic Doctor) requires a minimum of 4 years full-time equivalent study and at least 5,100 credit hours, incorporating substantial supervised clinical training.
Levels 1-3 require a minimum of 1,200 credit hours each (3,600 total), while Level 4 requires a minimum of 1,500 additional credit hours. Level 5 requires a minimum of 6,000 total credit hours and is weighted heavily toward advanced clinical experience.
Each level may be awarded in staged increments (e.g., 1a, 1b; 4a, 4b; 5a, 5b) to reflect partial completion and structured advancement. All levels include defined minimum requirements for supervised practical and clinical training, with higher levels requiring significantly increased clinical exposure.
This tiered structure allows for professional flexibility while ensuring that progression is competence-based, measurable, and aligned with clearly defined academic and clinical standards.
